Richmond, Va. – Award-winning author William Henry Lewis will appear in Richmond on Thursday, February 8 for the 2007 culminating GO READ event. GO READ seeks to bring residents of greater Richmond together through a shared reading experience. Mr. Lewis will read and discuss his book, I Got Somebody in Staunton, at 7 p.m. at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 815 E. Grace Street in downtown Richmond. Published in 2005, I Got Somebody in Staunton is a collection of short stories that weaves the past into the everyday of contemporary American issues. The title story has been highlighted for community discussion. This featured GO READ book is a finalist for the PEN/Faulkner Award and named an honor book by the American Library Association’s Black Caucus. A reception and book signing will follow the reading. The event is free and open to the public. Free parking is available in the St. Paul’s garage.
