How to get connected:
Everyone is invited to participate in GO READ. White People by Allan Gurganus has been selected for the 2004 reading. This award-winning collection of short stories explores the human experience – black and white, gay and straight, young and old, and especially southern. Mr. Gurganus will visit the Richmond community on November 11. Make plans today to get your community group involved by following these steps:
- Obtain the Book - The book is available at local bookstores and libraries
- Read It - This summer and fall join your community, friends,
and family in reading and discussing the same book together.
- Access the Discussion Toolkit - A resource guide is available at most library branches and online.
- Join the Conversation - Use the toolkit to help facilitate discussions in your home, workplace, community center, coffeehouse, or place of worship. Area libraries and bookstores will also have scheduled book discussions and community groups and schools will plan events throughout the fall. Check the website for an updated schedule.
- Communicate - Visit the GO READ website and email us about what you or your group plans to do with the book and what your experience has been. Send your comments to GO READ
